TOAST .....

Well, WHATTA' WAY TO START A MONDAY !!!!!!!

I am sure most of you who read my blogs have been wondering WTH I have been .... don't worry .... I am ok .... however, it is my friend - 'Puter that is not ! :O( I am very sad here about it, so let me tell you what happened. :O(

Thursday and Friday were pretty busy here at home, getting alot done before Labor Day and what not because the kids will go back to school the day after, so I wasn't able to get in a blog for nothing ... then Saturday and Sunday the hubby had off again and we got alot of things done outside as it had actually decided NOT to rain ..... we chopped down two trees and cut it all up and put into piles to burn, maybe a big bonfire or something (wish we had a fireplace!)... we mowed most of our 3 acres, and weed whacked the whole yard, trimming everything that didn't need to be there. We cleaned out all the garbage finally and took it to the dump, as well as another load of things to Goodwill. (That is 3 so far - they must love me !) So finally by Sunday night we finished all and went in to relax and shower, eat dinner and what else. At about 10 pm I was just pooped and decided to go to bed, straight away, I fell asleep .... but not all to soon was awakened by a loud noise. It was about 5:20 am ... raining YET AGAIN - and a thunderstorm was here. BUT THEN... it happened ........ FLASH .... Clatter .... A BIG POP AND SIZZLE (from downstairs) ...... the power flickered, woke hubby up so I went to inspect where that"pop and sizzle" noise had come from exactly ..... right into the living room I went ... I turned on the TV ... nope; it's okay .... then I saw it my 'PUTER ...... OH NO, NOT MY 'PUTER... MY BEST FRIEND !!!!!! HOW COULD IT BEEE?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I am a total dope, I never thought it was going to rain AGAIN .... so, being so tired, I forgot to turn it off ........ it had been on ! Ohhhhh, my poor friend ! Now, We had been sure to buy one of those really expensive power surge protectors for both the TV and computer, but it didn't save my friend 'Puter ! :o(

Now, all 'Puter does is - if you plug him in, the light flickers rapidly, it don't turn on, it don't turn off ... it does nothing ! :O( We tried every plug, thinking it may just be that one ... but nothing. NOTHING ! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!! :O(

HOW ... HOW - PEOPLE - am I EVER gonna' make it through this week without 'Puter ????? OMG, it is going to be hard!!!! I know, I know ... it could be worse, atleast we are all okay .... blah, blah, blah ...... but my 'PUTER .... WHY ?????? Sure .... it is only about 4 years old (old to some maybe, but halfway new to me) and I could just buy a new one, that would be okay ... I have money to do that, but HELLO - NOT ONLY AM I a big huge dope for not turning him off, but I am also a BIG dope because I forgot to SAVE everything , (gasp !) I have ALLLLLLLLL of our pictures, all of them people - all - from the past three years on there, I have court documents, personal papers, etc .... but the pictures is what i was freakin' out about the most, I feel so stupid for not saving them, why oh why had I kept putting it off !?!?!?!?!

So, I called HP and Best Buy yesterday several times to see what could be done and thankfully Best Buy said that they could look at it for 59 dollars and have had several people bring in their 'puters for the exact same problems recently. WHEW- I was releaved !!!!! He said it could be fixed (most likely) for under 200 dollars and that it most likely is the power source box that went out, so ... I feel much better knowing that it can be saved yet while I have to miss my friend all at the same time. The guy at Best Buy even said that they have ways of getting all of my stuff out of the 'puter to put on a new one IF it was terminal, so now I am feeling ALOT better, still dumb though, I just wish I had remembered to turn him off .... it really would have saved me all of this problem if I had just remembered ! If it isn't one thing here, it is another, I swear !!!! I am a dope ! :O(

So today, I have a doctor's appointment in LaCrosse and will take my 'Puter friend to Best Buy for drop off ... I have a few other errands to do up there, and since it is much to far of a drive to run back and forth, I will have to pick 'Puter up on Friday or Saturday. Boo hoo ... :O(

I guess for the rest of the week, I will enjoy the time with the kids till they go back to school next Tuesday .... I will get some more things done around the house and there will probably be some times I feel like I will be going through 'Puter withdrawl, but I am ok, so don't worry, I promise to catch up with all of you and your blogs as soon as I can ! I will miss all of you and think of you !!!!

Well, time is up for me here at our library as people have to share computers, so I have to run, take care and have a great week !!!
