ITCHY FEET .....

Needing a realllllly good scratching here .... LOL ... just kidding ! , OK ... ok - not really (Ewwwww) - just a term I like to use about my for NOT being in one place too long, I guess ... I just really love being on the road ! Anyway - spring is officially here and soon the kids will be out of school and summer will be soon to follow which means I am ready to go , go , go. I hate staying around in the summer, I just love driving - ahhhh, but gas prices you say - and yes, while that definitely is a major concern, I do not know that I will make it the whole summer and not go anywhere ... gee, that might be realllllllllly hard for me.

For instance, as an example of just how I am, a few years ago - October of 2002 , Adam was mobe-d here to Ft. McCoy, WI (we still lived in Indiana) ...So, after I dropped him off here - I for no reason what so ever decided that I was going to drive to Fargo, North Dakota. My reason.....well, I hadn't been there yet. So, once I got there - I decided that I would go 50 miles north to Grand Forks ... and once I got there I decided that I was going to drive 50 miles more to the border of Canada, well ... what other reason did I have other than because I hadn't been there; of course ! It was great fun...it was just my 3 kids in my Saturn SL1 at the time and we got to see the Northern Lights that night and got to eat some really interesting foods too. Unfortunately, we did not get past the border of Canada too far because I did not bring the kids birth certificates and they made me call Adam to make sure that I was not trying to run off with the kids ...go figure, but no...he told them that I just drive all over aimlessly whenever -so - they just thought that I was plain odd ! They just couldn't comprehend that I have driven to 38 states now for no other reason other than I hadn't been there yet ! LOL ... Oh well, I just don't want to get old and say to myself " gee, I wish I would have done this ... or I wish I could have done that " .... so , I just DO .... I know, I know ... silly me and that is why these absolutely retarded enormous gigantic gas prices are driving me insane !!!!! Just how can I possibly make it thru summer without driving to someplace ?????

Our normal vacation time slot is July 4th, so with gas prices being so nasty we just figured that we'd just go to Mt. Rushmore (South Dakota) again. Now it could be because both Adam and I love the feel of the Ol' west which is good to get there or because simply it is one of our fave places to go to. The KOA campground where we stay in Keystone has SOOO much for the kids to do. Plus, the fireworks at Rushmore are just absolutely awesome to see ! It really isn't that far of a drive for us, maybe ... 7 hours ... (nothing to us) but I still don't like the gas prices, close or not. Sure ... I would much rather go someplace I hadn't been to yet - such as Mt.Rainier and Crater Lake (Washington and Oregon) a trip I have been planning since 2004, but it hasn't happened yet. I swear this next time I go that way I WILL get down I-5 to San Fransisco again. The last time we went there it was soooooooooooooo foggy I couldn't even see my hand, seriously. I was sooo mad, it was July 3rd, 2003 and we had reservations at Disneyland for July 4th, so like duh - we had to go ...and making it timely was in demand, however; I never did get to see the Golden Gate Bridge ... so now everytime I hear about it, it makes me Grrrrrr ! LOL ... wasn't meant to be - but is meant that I go back - and this time NO funky fog better be in my way ! I swear that was the weirdest stuff I have ever, ever seen and everyone there was driving up and down the hills like maniacs and riding bikes ...oh we stuck out like sore thumbs on that one ! But it was the best trip we've ever taken ! One good thing about going back to Mt. Rushmore and anyother place is that this time I have my digi cam and not a 35 mm .... so much better ! I have been wanting to show everyone my photos from our past trips ...but I don't have time to scan them all here, it seriously would take me weeks ! Plus, I have alot in frames , such a bother, but maybe someday .

Well ... enough of my blabbering, I suppose I will get my feet scratched soon enough ! I just hate when they itch !
