PIZZA DOG (the recipe)

WELL, today was going to be " More to get done Monday" here, but I decided that I was just going to relax instead ... atleast for the moment anyway ... So, while I'm waiting ... I thought I would post one of my kids fave summer recipes and share it with all of you !!!!!

Now you know when you have kids and they like to eat, food is always a good thing, especially if you have lots of kids or if the kids happen to be kids with bottomless bellies, like mine !!!!! This is a pretty cheap and easy meal that my gang really likes ... and it is called "Pizza Dogs" ... made up by me and a friend a few years back, it has quickly become a fave here !!

So with pictures I will walk you through - step by step - in the making of these - that way maybe you can enjoy them too !

Step 1 :PREPERATION:

You'll need a cookie sheet, a spoon, a knife and to set temp in oven to 350.

The ingredients:

You need A package of Hot Dogs - I do prefer Oscar Mayer, but on this night, this is what I had. Also, a package of buns, Spaggetti sauce and cheese ... Kraft does work the best !

Next for step 2: Open the buns, tear apart (length wise) and put out on cookie sheet. After you have done that, open your spagetti sauce and spoon good amounts on each bun piece. (Too little means your bun might burn in the oven, too much will make it soggy.)

STEP3: Next you cut in half (length wise also) the hot dogs, placing them on each bun piece over the sauce - push down a little to assure they stick well and don't fall off.

STEP 4: After that, you cut in half (or break) a single piece of cheese and place it on top of the hot dog and bun. Once you put it in the oven it will all melt together nicely for a yuummmm-o treat !

STEP 5: Now cook "Pizza Dogs" for just about 15-20 minutes @ 350, every oven is different, so it varies. This is more a trial and error type of meal so along with temps, you can play with it a bit, adding mushrooms or olives - whatever you like as well. My gang likes them with "JUST CHEESE MOM" ...so that is how they get them !

STEP 6: Place the Yumm -o "Pizza Dogs" on a plate and serve with some equally yum-o things like fries or veggies. THEN - serve to your gang !! They'll be eager to try this good treat !
