I think perhaps, I have gone insane. Wait ... wasn't I already ?! Hmmm, well ... whatever.
I have spent my Saturday looking for none other than the old 'Strawberry Shortcake dolls' on eBay. Do any of you guys remember those ?!
You see, I still have alot of mine yet from when I was growing up, I was in LOVE with them around 1982 when I was in the 2nd grade. My girls still play with the ones I have left ALL.THE. TIME. Sadly tho, since they are older things, they are hard to find. You can't just go to Wal-Mart and get the OLDER ones anymore.
So, even tho I am sooo not a collector of anything, I have finally decided to collect this. Hmmm, Kinda peculiar - huh ? How is it, I - who collects nothing - ends up collecting this ? Weird. Well, anyways - I am missing some pets, hats, shoes, tights and of course the infamous Purple Pie Man. What a confusing task to find the items that are missing. I want to smack myself for getting rid of them. Why did I do that ?!
It is amazing tho to see what some folks want for the older items on eBay even, I mean, really ?! But they do that because some fool would pay it, I guess. I am just gonna be smart and look for the cheap things. I really don't collect anything, I don't like to. I do have a small collection of license plates from the states I have been to, but they are hard to find sometimes too. So I guess collecting this won't hurt anything too much - right ?!
Say, if ya'll know where I can find any of the original Strawberry Shortcake dolls - will ya' tell me ?! I have a small list of things I would like already going.

ReplyDeleteOh I loved Strawberry Shortcake and had a huge collection! Do you remember the big house?? i so wanted that house. My grandma collected toys and had that house but we couldn't play with it! I had all those in the picture! I even had the snail cart and the strawberry carrying case. Have you watched the new Strawberry shortcake videos? My kids love them!! Hey look up some fleamarket places around your area! We have several that have a ton of old toys at them. You have to have some around you!! What fun remembering!! Hugs
