Hello everyone and Happy Easter ! Hope ya'll are having a good day. :O)
I am ok, not doing a whole lot, just chillin and glad to be back. I must be getting old, the car ride back home sucked and seemed to take forever. Maybe it was traffic, but it was bumper to bumper from Chicago to Rockford, some construction and it was Friday, on a holiday weekend ..not good combo's at all when driving that way. It was good to see my Ma and Grandpa, but like I said before, I seriously doubt, I will go back anytime soon. So, Okay .... maybe it wasn't so much despair there, but it was kinda like a little mini inner city now. Old buildings boarded up and closed, lots of things run down and so congested. Tomah is like what it used to be when I was growing up. Funny I never thought about that till this last weekend .. but it is very similar.
I have been finishing the spring cleaning here since being back, lots of things to do and clean. I bought me a little writing desk yesterday for a few dollars, but Adam got upset because I refused to spend a big amount on something better and a chair. I thought what I bought was just fine, suits my needs and will help me some too. I just didn't think big money needed to be spent on something nicer right now.
We are all really looking forward to going to the Kalahari in about a week. We are sooo pumped, scratchin' and already, ready to go ! Like a little mini vacation. I am sooo hoping that we get to take our annual 4th of July vacation this year too, last year was the first time we had ever missed it and that sucked !
We are not doing alot for Easter today. We didn't buy eggs or baskets. I did buy a bag of Candy, but that is about it. Adam says he really wanted to share the true meaning of Easter with the kids and tell them of Christ coming to die for thier sins and the crusefixion (?sp.)... Easter, after all isn't about bunnies or baskets, or how much money you can spend on filling the baskets, or who got what.. you know ? Our not doing alot today has nothing to do with that one story I posted about evil bunnies or whatever, but Adam just wanted to be sure the kids knew the real meaning. I guess it is a really nice feeling that pressure was gone, but I think I will go hide some of the little egg candy's I bought so that Cameron and Gracie can find them. :O)
Well, the weather is really nice today - I think I may just go pop open a few windows and finish some cleaning and catch up on some more laundry. I also found this really neat box I was gonna paint and make into a little side table, so I think I will do that too.
Have a great day everyone !
HAPPY EASTER, HAPPY SPRING, HAPPY - HAPPY EVERYTHING !
And a Happy Everything back at cha! Sounds like your weekend turned out to be a good one.

ReplyDeleteHappy Resurrection Day! I just posted a blog regarding the true origins of Easter. You do right by your family to choose to celebrate the true meaning behind this time of year...Christ's sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection!

ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you.. sorry late. We do not do baskets or candy... have not since they were about 8... we do fruit baskets and we stopped coloring eggs when our youngest turned 14. They are just not as interested in the commercial side of Easter. Big HUGS I am still thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you too! Sorry I am a day late! I was so busy yesterday spending time with the kids and it was a great day and then today too!! I only did candy this year and no gifts in the baskets. We did do the dying of eggs and an egg hunt but we also went to church and always talk about what the whole meaning of Easter is about!! I hope your Monday has been good! Hugs your way!!
