Went to court, the judge was very rude. We lost and they will be coming to take the van. Now we have no car and Adam can't get to work. Great -- just great. No food, no car, no christmas, Great.
SO SO much to say, SO VERY much to say, but yet I just don't want to. I don't want to ruin your day - because what I would be saying is just too awful right now.
Doctor appointment at 3, oh boy ...... can't wait !

ReplyDeleteThey took my van basically because I refused to pay THIER insurance and my own at the SAME time. Big companies win, little folks get stepped on. Theres faith in the justice system I tell ya ... life is great ... WHEN YOU HAVE MONEY.

I do agree with that, but money can give you huge peace of mind on a lot of things that rich people take for granted, and that leads to happiness. WHile money can't buy it if you are a miserable person anyway, it can help with some things!

ReplyDeleteYeaaa, that was the thing that started it all. We had our own insurance, they said we didn't - we had to go to court 2x to prove it. they threw it out of our countys court so they went to the MAIN one to get what they wanted. They wanted us to pay thier insurance which was 3x more than ours, and we refused, whatever you do DON'T USE WELLS FARGO !

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Why don't you scrap the Saturn? Around here there are scrap yards that will come get your car + pay you a few hundred for it. It would give you a bit of money and it's not doing you any good sitting in the yard not running. Just a thought..
ReplyDeletenope .. no next steps. because we just lost our house in another lawsuit and had our identity stolen, we have NO credit. Everything is cash only. Normally though, but for the house and car we refuse to do credit.... guess i learned my lesson. So plan is to save enoungh money till a car can be paid for in cash.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing we *think* is wrong are the valve springs and a few tiny other items ... no big deal, if you know what you're doing. We don't.... nor do we have the money to get it fixed, thats why it sits.

ReplyDeleteAs for fixing the Saturn. My hubby is NOT a mechanic at all. But we are POOR and we can't afford to take our vehicles to mechanics at all so this is what we did. Went to the local car parts store and bought these books on both our vehicles. They tell you how to fix EVERYTHING and if your hubby is good with reading directions and attempting it, sometimes the repairs are not expensive at all. Al fixes everything so far this way and had NEVER worked on cars in his life.
What year Saturn do you have. I have a 97 Saturn and I might can look it up for you if it's the same and send you what to do.
Sometimes you can also look up directions for repair online. Worth a shot.

ReplyDeleteUgh that sucks! I have wells fargo and we were in a tight situation and dropped our insurance. Well they tacked on their own, so we just paid that. It's only for 6 months then they ask you to renew or show proof that you have your own. So I don't get why they would take you to court for that?
ReplyDeleteTammie I am so sorry. Your family has been through so much lately, it just doesn't seem fair to have the crap keep piling on you. I wish I could wipe it all away for you :-( I don't know the area very well, but can you hubby take the bus at all or is that not a possibility? Other than that, I would try and sell the Saturn so you could get some cash. Somebody out there would probably be willing to buy it and fix it up, and that might give you enough to find a vehicle to get by with until things get better. ReplyDeleteYou may be able to get another car. One year our car was having major mechanical problems and we needed to get rid of it. There are used car dealers that will give you cash for your used car whether it's running or not..and you can use it for a down payment on a newer used car. Also around here we have flyers (usually located at grocery stores) of used cars and sometimes they have $1000 coupons in there to go towards the purchase. So basically we got a newer used car for nothing down. Not sure if it's like that around you..but worth a shot. And we have shitty credit.

ReplyDeleteCan you ask at your church to see if any of the other parishners are mechanics? Perhaps one of them will feel the Christmas spirit and help you fix your Saturn. It never hurts to ask...all you can find out is the no one is and you aren't really any worse off than you were before, right?
