Ugh ... I don't even know where to start. I have been so busy. I haven't had much time to read blogs ... every time I sit and read one, I have to be off doing something else and don;t have much time to comment. I kinda can't wait till this is all over so I can be back to my full time job here... damn, I wish I would get paid for it !
I don't know what direction this is going to take on today... I was going to do a thought blog yesterday, but by the time I got around to it, my head was to tired to type out all my thoughts.
I was so exstatic last night to see Shawn Johnson win the gold for the Beam. I prolly cried more than her at that moment. Yes, I am a crier people. However, I AM still pretty dismayed about all this chinese mumbo jumbo ... is this what its come to ? I almost feel like saying they would say " You give us gold medal or we nuke you country" ... is it a trick ? I don't know - but I don't ever rremember in any other time that thier country EVER had so many gold medals ... kinda odd if you ask me.
Speaking of China ... I want to buy things that DON'T say "Made In China" ....but do you have any idea how hard that is proving to be ??? ....Is every thing made in China or what ??????? I mean seriously, can't we as Americans make the stuff ??? God !
Anyway, I will be sad to not watch the Olympics, I have enjoyed them being on.
As promised, I still intend to take Brittany tothe Mall Of America for back to School shopping. It won't be this weekend tho as I had planned, but it will most likely be the 6th and 7th of September. I made the promise and I can't stand people who don't keep thier word. so I must stick to it ....um, besides I do still want to go, I was looking forward to it. :O)
I have yet to get all thier supplies ... I have to do all that this weekend sometime or at the earliest of next week. CAN YOU EVEN SAY BUSY ! HOLY COW !
Yea, so the move is this weekend. yay. oh boy - can't you feel the pure excitement ??!
We got the kitchen painted and part of the dining room yesterday. It looks much better with color on the walls. I am finding a FEW pluses to being in town... like lets see... we can get chinese or pizza delivered now, we have trash pick- up, things are close and NO Harold the dumbass bus driver ! Oh and Brittany just LUVES the fact the the high school football team walks by the house everyday ... dang girls !
I still have no idea how we are going to get all this stuff over there. I might have to pay someone I guess.
And thanx to Rikki; whose been texting me - I will find out today if the vinegar idea she mentioned takes the smell out of the house...I cannot tell you how I wanted to gag at that smell. I do not - do not - do not understand how people can be so gross. HELLOOOOOO - Clean your house !!!! YUK !
Yes, I have OCD... and I AM proud of it ! But dang, seriously ...how much effort does it take to clean up after yourself ? EWWWWWWWW !
I have still been eating good and doing a few sit ups. I haven't had much time to do my walking, but as soon as we get settled, I will. I can walk every evening now - just not during the day because the schools use it for track and such.
Well, I have been having a BADDD craving for the Raisin Bran in my cabinet and now I must go eat some. Hope you all have a good day today and didn't mind my mindless blabber !!!!
TAMMIE
(PS ! HOLY CRAP ! I GOT TO SAVE IT !!!!! WOO HOO - I THOUGHT I LOST THE WHOLE BLOG !!!!!)
You are too funny. Shopping at MOA...**dreamy sigh** I would get lost in there forever.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the new place is coming along. Good luck with nasty oder.
YES! I saw Shawn win the gold too! And yah, the Chinese are getting WAAAY higher scores than they should.... it is maddening!
Glad your blog saved. That's great that the house is coming together. A little paint + a cleaning can do a lot. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't lose your blog! Phew!! Sounds like the house is coming along. Sorry about the odor and I hope you can get it out! I really have no clue why peole live the way they do it's so gross to not clean!!! The olympics has been fun. I hope your day today will be good! Big hugs your way!!
ReplyDeleteDon't even go there with everything being made in China! I went to a freaking stupid jewelry party at my cousins Saturday and they bragged it up big time that EVERYTHING was hand made. Then after I paid for these little earrings, $24.45 mind you for these stupid little fakes, My daughter pointed out these little tags on all the sample stuff that was there. "made exclusively for Lia Sophia in CHINA!" I never looked a the sample stuff since I don't wear big jewelry I got the smallest thing that was not over $30 that I could find because I didn't want to buy anyway. I have decided when they get here I am sending them back and telling them its because they were not made in America! Yep, that's what I'm gonna do!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the move!
Thank You thank you thank you !
ReplyDeleteI am glad. Someone should tell someone something ! I totally agree !
And I don't want to start some big debate, but do you know how many people in our OWN country could REALLY SERIOUSLY Be using the jobs right now?!?!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you sere able to pop in today! Hope your move goes smoothly!! Gracie is a doll!!!
ReplyDeleteI miss the Olympics now, I'm passing out by 8:30 and just read about them on the net...
I am glad to see that you were able to blog today. I was wondering how it was going with you!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the new place will feel like home soon! I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. :)
Good luck witht he move!
OMG!!! First of All, I have to say that I am with you on people keeping their word, but you do realize, its kind of different when under "bad" circumstances right?? I'm sure she will understand if you couldnt take her.....
ReplyDeleteIts so close to me and I never go!! ;( Makes me sad..... I just cant afford to shop shop shop right now. ( I did just get a new job FINALLY) so that may change! You should let me know when you go!!!!
Once your settled in your new place, I am sure it will take some time, but life will start to feel more normal again and you'll be able to catch a breath. Hopefully you will enjoy it.
OOOh cool, I will !
ReplyDeleteShe does understand, but we do a big shop every year and it's not that we can't afford it right now, but I wanna do it because I feel so bad for things.. yea, guilt too - I know that is bad, but I have always been a roly poly that way ! LOL !
Kinda like I want to give them back something - well, um, they do need new clothes too tho.... so it all works out anyway.ha ha ... never mind.
I do have pictures, but the dopey mope I am left the camera at the other house. I will load them up later when I get back home.
ReplyDeleteThat is SUCH a cute picture of Gracie!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your home is starting to feel like home:) I've been thinking about you but didn't want to bother you because I knew you'd be busy getting the house ready for the move. When you are done you should take some 'after' pictures so we can see them!!
I hate the MOA. I know. How can I be American? But, I do. Too crowded. I HATE crowds. Blah!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are finding pluses to your new house. Woot!
It's funny, the MOA is the closest mall to my house. The best time to go is on a snowy weekday afternoon/evening. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteBut the draw of the place still seems to be strong. The checkout clerk at the Build A Bear in the Tanger outlet in the Wisconsin Dells was going to the MOA for an "off to college" shopping spree.
Good luck trying to find something not made in China especially in walmart.
ReplyDeleteI was so happy for Shawn to win as well~she deserved it.
Hope you make it up to MOA
Haha seems everything is made in China :) see what year round school does all their kids graduate by 15 and are off making 100k a year providing goods to all of our under-educated youth *wink* seriously is sad though!!
ReplyDeleteGracie is just too cute. She totally made my day!
ReplyDeleteGo Shawn! That was pretty amazing! That little girl rocks!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately many things are made in China..BAH!
I luff luff that picture of Gracie...her smile is infectious!
NO HDBD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know Britt's psyched about THAT this year! Coolness that you are liking being in town, pizza delivery and trash pickup..niiiiice...I think its going to be great once you get settled in...glad you got the smell out...and the kitchen painted...sounds like some serious progress going on! I cannot wait to see pics of the inside...we do get to see right??? lol
Aww! Grace is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHope the move goes well this weekend! :)
I like China. Not their political policies and all that. But their culture. Their architecture, their art. It's beautiful and exotic to me. My house is decorated with many items from or inspired by various asian cultures. Even chinese philosophy holds an intense fascination for me. (I'd really like to study to be a Feng Shui practicioner.)
ReplyDeleteFrom my standpoint, the reason China has so many medals, is twofold. #1 they are a communist country that follows the belief that to earn glory for their country, they must funnel as much resources into their athletic training as possible. They take their children away from their families at very young ages and put them into special schools where they focus almost solely on training. (In the US, that is voluntary on the athlete's part. And believe me...most of these athletes move cross country to train with THE A-list coach, sometimes moving with a parent, but often with out.) #2. The Russian-block, aka Iron Curtain countries have lost some dominance. Those communist and former communist countries no longer have the resources to funnel into their schools, and their overall performance suffers. In gymnastics, it is not surprising to me how well China has done. Rather it's surprising to me how poorly Russia and Romania have done as a whole.
I had to laugh about your comment about buying American. It reminded me. I followed a Ford pickup truck home from work today, and they had a bumper sticker that said "Be Patriotic. Buy American." Lol. On a Ford. My understanding of the auto industry is that every car has at least 1 part that was made outside this country. Or was made here and the car was assembled elsewhere. And I've heard Toyota owns stock in Ford. It struck me as extremely funny. :)
Anyways, that's my whole take on the situation. And I'm right there with you watching Shawn Johnson. She and Nastia did awesome. I like their names too. Shawn. Nastia. Going with my own weird-name-for-a-girl situation, it's just awesome. :)
Eeek what happened to my comment *sniffle* I hit edit to add to it and it went *poof* fudge!! Well I was here, read it and replied and again HAHA!! Anywho it's nice to see you in better spirits Tammie :)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, it is so hard to find something that says "Made in America" anymore. Do you remember when Wal-Mart was first opened that was their policy? Now you are lucky to find anything in there that's not made elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI hope the move goes well for you this weekend.
Yes Chali... I never thought of it like that.
ReplyDeleteL .... I was standing in Wal Mart when I read your comment. Seriously ! HA HA ... OMG ! Talk about a good laugh.
DANG girl..I am exhausted from reading that....HUGS~
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your making it a home. I so hate painting!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? That was their policy?? How ironic. Matt won't even let me shop there because of their current "policies".
ReplyDeleteAnd, he went on a mission a couple of years ago to buy nothing but American. He had to give up right away because otherwise we would have nothing! He still looks really hard to find stuff made in the US, and will pay extra for it if he can find it.
And there is where the issue lies, in reality. The fact is, Americans demand cheap stuff (as in, cheap cost), especially in today's economy. (Which is why Walmart's slogan changed recently, to take advantage of it) However, we also demand to be paid what we are worth, so anything made here in America is going to cost more. Even WITH the bonus of not having to ship it across the ocean, it still will cost more. And given a choice, the average American will pick the cheaper cost item just about every time, so we are in effect, screwing ourselves, because we want to have our cake and eat it too. And it's not going to happen.
Hope the move is going ok. Glad to know that you are seeing the positives in living closer to town! :) The bus situation is a huge one! And of course, the football players! LOLOL Teenagers! hehehehehe
