TICK TOCK ....

Ahhhh, today was one of those days that seemed to take forever - it seemed to drag on and on and on ... Weird, as yesterday was one of those days that seemed to zip by faster than I had time for. Hmmmm.

Well, I had some questions directed my way yesterday after my blog that I wanted to take the time to answer and instead of doing it all individually - because I don't have time - I will just answer most of them here.

My first question was: "Why don't you just try to sell your house" ?

My answer: We can't .... No realtor would want to touch this situation with a ten foot pole - the house with the land is involved in a law suit, so there for we are stuck with it until whatever happens - happens. It is a really messy deal and trust me because we can't afford it - we HAD thought about selling it - but even after talking to a lawyer he said that most likely selling it would not happen until this matter is cleared.

2) " Can you save your house by filing bankruptcy" ?

My answer: Well, yes .... and no. I know that don't make sence, but about 6 months ago we'd gone to see a lawyer about filing I think it was a chapter 13 (the one that can save ur home -etc.) anyway, the lawyer told us that in Wisconsin they are pretty useless to do. While WI has great laws to protect people, it also have some that don't and this is one of those things that it falls under. Unfortunately, the lawyer said that it only delays the process and losing ones home usually happens in the long run anyway. We haven't spoke to any one else about it since, but have considered going this route anyway.

3) Have you considered assistance of some kind and if so, can you get it" ?

My answer: Well, yes and no - again. We have looked for some forms of assistance such as food stamps, medical, free school lunches and heating assistance - all of which would greatly help us out. However we were denied for all of those because they say that my hubby makes to much money. They have never taken the time to see that if (just saying) my hubby were to bring home 1000 a week and we have 8 bills at 100 dollars each, some small bills, food, gas, etc - along with the house, car, heat and electric it is GONE ...... gone ! Nothing left for savings of any kind - nothing left for emergency's. Since we don't nor will ever use credit we get looked down on alot, but I don't need another bill around anyway, so it helps more than hinders. No one cares that if I don't pay for some of the things that we have to because of the identity theft we'd have to go to court and have even been threatened with jail time.

4) "How were your identity's stolen" ?

My answer: Check Book .... it all started with our checkbook. I will NEVER have one again. I had to run to the store one day, it was summer - and when I went to run in I grabbed my book of coupons and forgot my checkbook on the car seat. (I had left my windows partially open) when I needed to pay in the store I had cash - so I thought nothing of it - later when I looked for it - it was gone. Nothing else was taken, however I had my Drivers Licencse and ONE small/emergency credit card in the flap. ( I do not carry a purse!) Since I wasn't sure of the exact location of it's whereabouts or exactly when it was taken in Indiana (where we were living at the time) the police told us that there was nothing they could do - nor could I file a report. Now, this was almost 3 years ago - so maybe things have hopefully changed since, but that is what made it hard for us. I couldn't prove that I did not write the checks and all of our money was gone, bad checks were written and the bank automatically would take it's fees out when we got paid - leaving us nothing after - we begged and pleaded but no one would listen. The thieve (s) had also taken the numbers off the bottom of the check and distributed them all over the internet - sending things everywhere they could. They took the credit card we'd saved for emergency's and ran it up - leaving us to pay for it all because we couldn't prove that it wasn't us who charged it - it was little amounts, nothing alarming and done near where we lived. Near 3 years and 26,000 dollars in fees and charges later .... here we are. We never found out who did this, thus fore nothing could be proved. Last we heard the only thing that could be deduced was that it was someone from Gary, Indiana (we lived just south of there) and most likely a woman with the name Tammy as well - but that is as far as we could get. Hmmmm.

5) "About your house - what is on the other side of the old bricked door" ?

My answer : Well, I will just show you .....

Our dining room - and on the other side ....

Inside the door you can see the arch - that is the old door. We planned to make this a beautiful front door again and an entryway. Right now it is a make-shift laundry room but it too will be moved.

Now, you're probably thinking "Where will you move that to" ? Well, simple ....we had a bathroom off the kitchen of all places, that I thought was gross to be there, so we thought that it would make a much better pantry/ laundry area. When we added our bathroom into our bedroom earlier this year we took out this bathroom, we still have some work to do before the washer/dryer goes in. I am glad it is gone though.

GEE - I am beginning to think the only rooms I haven't shown everyone is my kitchen, the basement and Jordan's room...... well, never to fear - you see Jordan was kind of offended that I showed every one else's room and not his, so I will soon take pictures for him so that I can show all of you ! If you'd like, I will do the kitchen too. :O) H aha ha ha ha!

Well, I hope I answered all of the questions ya'll asked, if not or if ya' got more just ask.

Well, gotta run - baby is finally asleep and got tons to try to do. I will write again soon. :O)
