Hello everyone, seeing as though yahoo is obviously having some sort of an issue today, I decided to answer some of the questions from old messages that I had recieved for a blog today. In no particular order, here are some ODDITES OF ME:
1) I hate coffee. Simple - but seems to stun a few ppl I know. I must be the only 32 year old who hates it I guess, but tried my Grandma's when I was like 12 and have always hated it. I actually hate all hot drinks, even hot chocolate.
2) I do not carry a purse. Does this make me odd, I don't know, but to me if it don't fit in my pocket, it don't need to go. Could be a form of my tomboy-ism or the fact that I find it useless and don't want to be a bag lady.
3) I am cheap. (sort of) Of course being cheap doesn't make me odd, it is just HOW I am cheap .... I don't shop at the dollar stores much, but instead at JcPenney's or the mall ... however when it comes to certain things I find it more worth my money to buy name brand than cheap things. Like with shoes, I will ONLY wear Nike ... have had to buy cheap shoes more often than good shoes -thusfore wasting my money. Now With food however, it is a little different, but I cannot make myself by cheap ketchup, spagetti sauce or mac and cheese. On vacation, forget it, try to spend a cent and it is war ! I feel that alot of people rip others off just knowing that they have some spare to spend ...ugh, not me !
4) I HATE shoes. Okay since I am not a centipede, and have never really felt good enough about myself to be "girly", I have one pair of Nike tennis shoes that faithfully go with everything ! I just don't see the need to buy more, but just try to tell that to my daughter, Brittany !
5) I cannot wear old socks. Ok, I've explained that I am cheap, however, I cannot wear old socks. Once they have been washed a few too many times and are not soft, I can't wear them, so if someone hears me saying - the socks are "crunchy" - I am off buying new socks ! They must be fresh !
6) I LOVE fresh towels ! Okay, maybe not too odd, but when I get out of the shower I like the towels FRESH and smelling sooooooo good ! If it is not fresh, I am not using it ! I also like my towels from Penney's - they are always so fluffy !
7) I buy/use my own soaps. I will not share soaps with people. I have sensitive skin, but I do enjoy the good stuff, so I buy my fave lavendar stuff from Bath and Body Works... and if anyone touches it they are gonna die !
8) Slight bit of a germaphobe. Ummmm, ok odd - I am sure, but some old ppl in my family do not cover thier mouths when they cough, etc. A fact that is soooooo gross to me. I wash things sometimes like 5 times, or make ppl take thier shoes off etc. To me if it was near a germ, don't get by me. In public bathrooms, (if I use them) I will not touch things after I wash my hands, I will use a towel or baby wipe to like open the door, for god sakes, what if some one didn't wash and then you touched it opening the door or turning off the faucet ....ewwww !
9) Medical buff. Most ppl don't know this about me, especially if they knew me from long ago. I LOVE to read or watch shows on medicine. I have read Grey's anatomy for the fun of it as well as other medical books. My fave branch of medicine is the study of "OTOLARYNGOLOGY". This is the study of the ear, nose and throat ... I also love to ponder the inner workings of the brain - I want to know it all, there is so much about the brain that ppl do not know, if only the would use money wisely to figure it out, ppl as a whole would be better. (clue#1 why I always ask the doctor 10,000 ?'s, and why I like my doc as he lets me !)
10) 4 drinks. Yep, I only drink 4 things, I am pretty picky about that ! They are Pepsi, Lemonade, Juice or Water - if it is super cold ! I don't like to drink alchohol even, so I have only been drunk once. Tastes like hairspray to me.
11) I sew my own stuff. Okay, since ppl seem to think this is odd - I listed it. I have sewn all my own curtains and other belongings like table cloths or pillows. I taught myself because I thought it to be useful. There is only one set of drapes that I bought at Penney's for my daughter Brittany's room (we loved them) that I have not sewn myself. I have not gotten as far as clothes yet, but would love to try.
12) I lovvve to drive. I have driven all over the place, from NY to LA ... one time a few years back I drove to Canada just cuz' we'd not been there yet. It certainly has changed since gas prices went up, but it is a fave thing of mine to do. If I haven't done it, I will try - no regrets ! My BF thinks this is just odd as hec !
13) I do not care if I have perfect credit. Okay ppl, I have been through a mugging and identity theft ... so I no longer care to fight anymore about the crap that is a lie ! My husband and I have paid out of pocket over 26,000 dollars to "try" to fix it up -ONLY to have ppl still not care or understand. So much like the National Enquirer, I feel that credit reports are just lies. We have our own home and do not use credit cards, if I cannot pay for it in cash - I DO NOT need it ! Besides, I don't believe in being in debt, so besides my house, we are NOT ! If more ppl were honest to begin with - it wouldn't be an issue.
14) I like things to "try" to be perfect. As no one is of course, I don't know if you call it perfection-ism or not, I like to think of my job here at home as my main priority besides my children. Therefore I take it seriously. I have VERY old fashioned belief's with the thought that it is the man's job to support the family while it is the woman's job to care for the home and the children. I spoil my husband with certain things, but on the same token he does the same for me - so it works well for us. Everything in my house has a place, and if it isn't there or I don't know where it is ... it drives me absolutely crazy ! I am an organized freak !
15) Secretly, I would love to sing, or be a swimmer/diver. A fact that many do not know. I do not feel that I am good looking enough to be a singer, but I sing okay - just way too nervous to do in front of ppl. As far as swimming or diving, it was ALL I wanted to do growing up, I spent many years swimming and wanted to do it professionally, but since my parents were strict with religion, I had to give it up as they didn't feel it was proper for a teen girl to be in a swimsuit in public.
16) I HATE 80's music. Yes, I was raised in the 80's however, I hate most of it cuz it brings back alot of BADDDD, bad. bad. memories of me being in school. I hated school and everyone in it - it was a bad time for me.
17) I hate jewelry. I am one girl who really don't like it, sure that don't make any sence seeing I was once had 13 piercings, but just another thing that seems like another waste of money. I wear my wedding rings ALL the time, but other stuff which is few, I have is kept for special occasions only.
18) I have pondered agrophobia. Another fact most don't know about me, I am not good at all near ppl. I have had times when anxiety attacks are quite normal and I get so nervous I puke. I know it all stems from my childhood and how I was treated, but I have had REAL trouble getting over it. Sometimes just staying in the house alone suits me just fine ! (I do much better on here.)
19) I don't like phones. I would rather write or be in person if I have to. I write alot better and make much more sence when the thoughts I have are down on paper (or screen). If for some reason, I am pissed about something, I will be honest and tell you exactly how it is, so it is better for me to write how I feel. Besides I can't seem to talk and do things at the same time very well if at all, so phones and I don't get along. I do have a cell, however only my hubbs and I talk on it.
20) I hate feet. yes, that is right - feet gross me out and I don't know why ! If we are in public and someone has nasty toes, I will actually urp ... it is sooo gross !
21) NO casino's/gambling ! Think it is a way for the rich to get richer, the poor to get poorer, I don't even buy things from bubble gum machines anymore - anyway to rip you off, someone will !
22) LAST ONE .... I promise. I can throw up on command, had eating disorder in HS and ever since can do it without bother. (usually when something is gross though) I also have no center to the INSIDE of my nose ... I can totally creep people out with that one, but have no idea why it is that way. It is not a bother tho.
OKAY ...WHEW ....took me a bit of time, but hope it answers all your so called burning ?'s .... I am sure I will be back tommorrow to enlighten your days ! :O}
