F IS FOR FUN ....

Or it supposed to be anyway ! Just kidding we had a great time ! So, As I am loading my photos for today for this blog, I am sitting here this morning half asleep and suffering from my raging allergies which for some reason are bugging WAY more than usual since we got home on Sunday night. I am going to try to make it through the next few days without ripping my eyes out because they itch so bad or dying from the incidious asthma attacks that keep coming ... I have a doctor appt. on Friday so I will have to get a new inhaler, seeing as though I really haven't had to use one in quite along time and thinking I out grew it, I am finding that I am not prepared for the pain, so back to the albuterol to breathe. Just wish I knew what was bothing me so much ... besides my being home ... lol !

Anyway, I will get on with the photos that I wanted to share today ... I decided to show days 2 and 3 of our trip instead and not do a slide show so'd they be bigger with more detail and I didn't feel like waiting either, so I may not get every photo up, but I will put the best ones. I also will TRY to not blab so much in this blog so it isn't toooo ungodly long ! lol !

Still on July 2nd, as I forgot to inculde yesterday -we went to see an 1880's train (or so they called it - seeing it was built in 1927 ! ) and Cameron just loved it, he loves trains anyway so there was no way that we even could have passed through Hill City and not have stopped - he'd of gone insane ! They were sounding the whistle every little bit and Cameron would point and scream at it like it was the next best thing ! It wasn't too hot that day, maybe in the upper 80's, but they "old" crowd of people gave us the idea to get our own pictures taken like the old way in costume as well while we visited S.D. Anyway that idea wasn't far off, anyone who's read my old blogs must know that Adam and I's fave time period is right around 1876 ... so we fit right in ! I couldn't believe that the dresses were quite so hot though ...wow, do I really feel for the people that lived then - however did they even come close to NOT having an air conditioner, wow, are we spoiled ! Loved it though - got a huge photo to put up in the LR, but I still hate the way I look ! Might be the only one you see of me ...I hate pictures with a passion ! No one needs to be scared now ! :O)

SO ANYWAY ... without much further ado ....

The 1880 Train ...

Some of the people in costume that were a part of the train ride that day.

Adam and Cameron by the train ...

Delighted !

A mama deer and her 2 babies - right out by the track not far from us !

Now for July 3rd .... Mt Rushmore .... wow are you kidding me ...there were 30,000 ppl there that day and it was INSANE ! We have been there several times now and it has never been that bad ! The security ppl wouldn't let anything through and I was lucky to squeeze the camera in in the afternoon to snap some pix. Of course since no coolers or even water bottles could go in with you , I was a bit upset because that meant that I would have to NOT be cheap and would have to spend money on un-neccasary things. I was not at all happy that they remodled the shops inside since our last visit there and now are charging $ 6.75 for a cheeseburger that looks like it was hauled in from the dumpster ! It used to be that you'd get a huge plate of spaggetti and bread for only $ 4.00 .. but those days are gone and all they had now was BADDDDD crap at outrageous prices ! The gift shop had gotten just as bad, pencils or postcards, magnets or little trinkets used to be cheap, so my kids would load up - but forget that ! Even with the money my husband gave them, Brittany was the only one who spent some of hers and that was $ 8.00 for a small water globe. I am cheap folks - so I always look for bargains, with 5 kids you gotta, so I was pretty upset that they changed one of our fave places to be like all the others in the world. Geeze, is there anything left that don't rip you off ????? Okay, so I blabbed AGAIN ... here are the pictures - besides the prices we DID have a good time ! Notice we all have matching shirts on ! I loved that !

Mt. Rushmore - they had all 50 states flags displayed as you entered.

Jordan, Hannah and Brittany - Cameron wouldn't sit still for the picture, even though we tried several times !

Finally got Cam to sit long enough to take a picture !

Cameron playing with a little girl.

Okay here is Cameron and Adam - with a bat with Adam just felt he HAD to buy for Cam ....wow, what the hec was he thinkin' ????? *hint* Don't give bat or ball in public place to a 2 year old ! * NOT - I repeat - NOT a good idea ! *

Cameron, Adam and the bat again ..........

Jordan ....

Brittany ....

Hannah ....

So ...on July 4th, seeing as though Mt. Rushmore does thier fireworks on July 3rd .... we headed out to Deadwood ... a small town north of the Rapid City/ Keystone area. We got the "old" photo taken there and looked around alot at the old stores. Adam and I were quite dissappointed however as many of them turned out to be casino's. It seemed that everywhere you went had a slot machine in it and even the ice cream parlor was not without. We finally found one place that served ice cream as it had gotten quite hot that day that did not have any casino-y things in them and we ate there. Sure we've been through Vegas before in 2003, but not for that - just to look, but we did not expect Deadwood to be like that. (For those of you who don't know - we do not believe in gambling, so we do not go into the places that support it.) But we got the "old" picture taken of us and then we left to go watch more fireworks down the road. I did get one photo of Deadwood though. I forgot to get a picture of where Wild Bill was shot at Saloon 10, I know it is weird that I would want that anyway. But the history IS really neat to me ! I wish though it would have been more !

Our Family Photo ....

It was so hot in the costumes ...wow ... who could've imagined that. Cameron only sat still long enough for a few shots after that, he tore off the costume and ran around like a nut. Our purpose was to not look too happy because if you really look at "old" photo's of people - they sure don't look happy at all ! We wanted to try to be as original as we could ! The guys loved the "gunslinger" look, and Jordan wanted to put the thing over his mouth to be a bandit ....yea right, really family oriented ! They had NO "pa" clothes like the ones from "little House" or Adam would have dressed like that. He was kinda dissapointed but the GUN made him happy again ...... hmmmmmmmmmm ? What is that about ? Jordan wanted to keep the cowboy hat to be like Tim McGraw so we told him he could pick a real one out for his birthday ! The girls were just there, I don't think either of them cared for the dresses, but then with it being so hot, I don't blame them. The place did have air conditioning in it, but it still was very hot ! As for me, I HATE pictures, pictures of me make me want to hurl. This is probably and litterally the ONLY one you'll see of me any time soon !

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .....

NOW that family time is over, I have a picture to show that is on the back side of MT. Rushmore .... look at the rock collection closely .... for some odd reason I was the one who found this, which is a fact that still shocks my husband seeing as I am a proud prude of most things ! I don't know that significance of this - other than what I call it - which is "Mt. Dickmore" (or pee pee rock around the kids) .... and being that is on the back of a national monument that have PRESIDENTS on them ...... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ???? Maybe it is for BUSH, or maybe it means for all government ppl ! You got me ! But even through my prudeness - I managed to snap this picture as I just thought it was odd or someone would enjoy it somewhere .

Well, I have sat here long enough today and must continue with my ton of laundry from our return .... if I have time tonight I will be back to show some more pictures, but don't worry - I won't take so long, I promise. I hope that you liked the photo's !

Hope that you all have a great day ! :O) TAMMIE
