So, What's been going on ??

Well, I have been MIA for about two weeks now or something like that. I gotta say that withdrawl was hard the first few days, but I guess it was nice having that break for a bit. LOL. I might have to continue it some actually ... I was getting so much done. The problem was that we had Alltel which was bought out in our area by Verizon. We greatly disliked them !!!! Our bill doubled for the same things and they were being so stupid and nit picky about everything and saying that it was Alltel's problem not thiers. So basically we shut them off and went to US Cellular instead. The change ended up saving us 200 a month on the bill and made us all sooo much happier !

When I finally got back online, I was so taken back with all the messages I got, I cried ! I had no idea y'all read my stuff so much .... much less cared. Thank you all for missing me and caring so much, It meant alot to me !

Anyway, Christmas was good, but I think I was on FB for a few days after and posted all our photos. New years wasn't bad, but we didn't do anything but play the Wii most of the night. I still can't believe it is 2010 already. I swear time just seems to go by faster and faster ! Makes me feel so old !

Other than that we have spent alot of time cleaning and re-organizing the whole house. I got boxes and boxes of just plain crud we no longer want set aside for our big yard sale in the spring.  I cleaned out the cabinets in the kitchen, bath and laundry area. I was holding onto somethings from our house that we lost ... I don't know why, other than that I really missed our house and maybe I just didn't want to get rid of it ... but it is going now. I figured if it hasn't been out to look at, or used in some way it didn't need to just sit there and plus,  since I would love to move, say to Tennessee or something, it is nice to clear out. But ya'll already knew that ! LOL. Who knows, though. I have been praying and will leave it up to the lord.

The last couple of days we cleaned out the holiday things and got a huge crate of stuff to hopefully sell as well. I packed the rest up really well - bubble wrapped and all organized. We had about 12 Rubbermaid totes packed full and now we have 7. All the rest is going.

It is good though.. since I figure to make - hopefully - a nice chunk of change from our sale we have a splendid summer Vay-K planned. ...... and I cannot wait !!  I will get to states 39 and 40 ! Basically we leave here and head for Fargo (ND) for the night. From there, going into Montana and Idaho and head to Seattle. Visit there for a day and might see some old friends of ours from the military, if they don't mind, then head down to Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens then onto Crater Lake in Oregon. After that a day trip to San Fran (since the first time we missed it because of the fog !) then onto Yosemite before heading to my cousins in Grand Junction, CO - then back home.

If you know me, you know I LOVE road trips and it is my goal to get to all 50 states ... so this super excites me ! I swear, if we had the means we would travel the US - ALL the time !!! What an experience that would be ! I wish I could. Could you imagine - you have to teach a lesson for the schooling on say " Yellowstone" .. and instead of learning from a book, you just go there !!! Ohhh that would be soooooo awesome to do all the time !

Anyway.... back to reality and out of the realm of dreaming ... I am tired of winter. Funny tho, not as tired of it as last year, but I am still not going to complain about it. I just hope it ends sooner this year. LOL. I would still like to get to Florida for spring break tho, but we'll see ... I know  - I am dreaming again. .... and it does bother me about the fleshiness there - but who knows. All in the Lords will I suppose.

So in not having the internet on, we got alot done for our schooling. We have been learning about female submissiveness and things like 'Roe -VS- Wade'. We watched a fabulous movie called "Come What May" done by homeschoolers. We have also had a many discussions about the courting issue and purity movement. Since we DO NOT belive in dating or any PDA, it fit so well into the things we have been learning.  I had had my face a book the whole time and loved that ... but I have so many to read I can't keep up. My read lately is called "QuiverFull" (I think I mentioned that before) but I still haven't finished it. It really has helped me to better understand a few things and the things mentioned above, and what a great aid for our studies. I know after I get off of here I have to go to the 'Vision Forum' website and buy me some other articles for reading and learning. I wish my Barnes And Nobles card worked there as that seems to be the place I am at alot lately. I had some friends here ask us to help with the lessons on what we have been teaching, but I have no idea how to do that ... errr, so that makes me nervous.

Other than that, we got Brittany the kitten from one friend for Christmas and finally made the decision to let her get the Hedgehog from her other friend. (the one we gave Nibby to) Not supposed to pick it up till late next week though, and that makes me nervous toooo. I have no idea how to care for him, they said just give him cat food and let him roam about, but that sounds REALLLLY weird to me !!! Good grief. How do I let myself get talked into such things.. lol. dang kids.  Pix will be posted over at FB when we get him.

So lets see .. hummm, I think that is it. Funny I seemed to get so much done, but all of it said in such a little time... lol.

So I hope you all had a great new years and the rest will be wonderful too ! I will write and blog again soon ! Take care, Love to you all !!!

  2. What's the difference between dating + courting?

  3. Tonya - I meant that by ladies not wearing much of any covering on thier skin. Like we wear "WholesomeWear" swim suits when we go swimming, but I don't obviously expect everyone to have the same convictions as we all do - however I DO NOT want to see some lady wearing a "thong" while we are simply just trying to enjoy our time there .. and I have heard from a few that there is plenty to be seen. That to me is WAYYY beyond innapropriate ! What people do in thier own home, behind closed doors is thier own thing, but when you bring it into public for others to see - young children and what not - those who dont know any better .... it is wrong.

  4. You need a camper if you want to do that long road trip...I can't imagine doing that in a car or a van. I love the idea of road trips, then once I am an hour into it, not so much.

Glad the year has started off well for you. You sound happy. That is good.

  5. Kim - Dating and Courting are different in that in courting we do not let the kids do anything without chaparonement. Like in our situation any boy, say interested in Brittany, must come to us first and express his interest in her. Only then at that time would we consider her able to be courted by this young man if we like him and agree with his upbringing, parents and background. Once they would be courting, there is no hand holding, no physical touching and no kissing. Everything done - even if just standing out the door - is chaparoned. We want Purity for the girls and do not want any type of sexual acts done until the wedding day.

I know alot think this is extreme , but we have the girls' hearts as our best interest.

  6. Okay, I honestly don't see many thong wearers around here but maybe in the more vacation areas it's happening. But I'm sure any "beach areas" in any state or country have those issues, not just in Florida.
I agree, unless the beach is designated for that type dress it shouldn't be allowed when young children are there.

  8. I know what you mean. I needed the fresh start to start over again after the funk of last year. I NEEDED 2010 to get here for some reason to feel that way.

If I ever win the lottery (which I don't play) I will buy you a RV.

  10. I would love an rv also, its a dream of ours but I don't think it will be a reality. I agree with you on being strict with your children, there are way too many teen mom's out there and teens getting all kinds of nasty diseases just to be part of the in crowd.

So glad to hear everything is going ok with you and the family, when someone is not on for a while I do tend to wory. My online friends are my family and I care for you all very much.

I follow a family online that travelled in a renovated school bus, they have a great blog about their travels and you may be interested. Their blog is called Where the FuhKaui at http://fuhkauifamily.blogspot.com/

  12. I am thinking that spring break would not be the best time to take a family to Fl.

We watched a thing on CNN about the Quiverfull lifestyle. It had that Author (I bet) a lady that lived and raised her family with those beliefs and the had given it up and a third lady that had studied the effects of it within the families and such. Three VERY different views on it. It was on Joy Baer ( not sure if that is how she spells her name.). You should check it out.

  15. Sarah I found some of it, and I gotta say that Rachael Scott takes it too the FAR extreme. I do not believe all that she does. I guess there are different thoughts on everything.
