Tune in for this weeks episode of the new series called " The Belly" and watch as it takes over the world ! :O) This weeks episode will conclude the weeks 19 and 20 and tell you about all of my lovely joys and experiences of being pregnant with our fifth child !
A pretty good idea thought up by my husband Adam actually. He thought it would be good to chronicle all the weeks of our pregnancy to see how things change. Now you think that this would have been something that we would have thought up say - like 4 children ago, but sadly no, for some reason we just now thought of this and would like to share our experience with you . Of course tho, 16 years ago we didn't have 360 blogs or the net to even connect to people so for our first child it would have been different anyway ... and I must admit having 5 was not on my first things to do with my life, I really had no idea what I wanted, but as time went on through the years I realized that it was very much a joy for me to be around my kids and if I had never had - had them what a world I would be missing out on. Now, I can actually sit here and say good or bad, happy or sad most days are worth it and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
So without much further ado ......
Week 19 consisted of, actually beginning to "feel" little kicks from the baby and some movement as well. Went to the doctor Friday and heard the heardbeat - strong and usual and just as it should be. I had one day of feeling nauseous, but all the others were pretty good with no complaints. I am still losing weight, which is totally ok with me - but according to my nurse is just not a healthy thing during this time and I should be careful. Doctor said tho that everyone and every pregnancy is different - Just as long as I don't feel alarmed by it, am feeling well and nothing major happens, I shouldn't be too concerned about it. ~
For weeks now I have craved cheese, which is odd, but this week was no exception, I ate like lots of nacho's and things covered in cheese. I do not know why I am craving cheese, and I find that fact extremely odd ... you'd think one would crave chocolate or something, but actually when I eat I have to eat like half but it is really good and it has not been anything really junky or it makes me feel pretty run down - so for whatever reason, it must all be for the good. I can remember craving things of all sorts with the others ... with Jordan it was mexican food, you know gooood spicy stuff ! With Brittany it was ALL chocolate - probably a very good reason I gained a hec of alot of weight with her - which has still to some extent refused to leave ! With Hannah I craved Baked goods, like do- nuts and breads. I didn't really gain alot of weight with that tho. Now with Cameron, I was skinny - we hadn't actually planned on another, but took no precautions of course to prevent it, so I got down to a low size 7 and found out I was preganant. Well, naturally I craved literally EVERYTHING that I could eat - if it was edible I ate it ! I swear to you - everything smellllllled sooooo friggin good with his pregnancy that I ate everything in sight ! I do not know why that was, but as soon as I had him I can remember we ate at Red Lobster and I was sooo disappointed because I couldn't taste things as I had when I was pregnant. Isn't that weird ? Only a few weeks before having Cam and having ate there and pigging out, god it was soooo gooood tho ! I loved buffets - mmm - mmm - good ! So now here we are with this one and all I want is cheese, not like Kraft cheese slices but melted cheese, warm oooey gooey cheese - the kind that drips off of things as you eat them. I guess one good thing can be said about it though, atleast this time I am not having the nausea I had with Cameron's so enjoying the melted cheese is alot better ....ahhhh, and no heart burn ... well as of yet anyway, but I am only at week 19-20 so not too uncomfortable yet ! :O) whew ! Thank Goodness ... but soon to come ....
Well here is some interesting facts that I thought I would share this week :
Your Baby's Development
Your baby is now covered with a white, waxy substance called vernix caseosa, which helps prevent delicate skin from becoming chapped or scratched. Premature babies may be covered in this cheesy coating at delivery.
Your baby is still tiny, but this week brings the development of brown fat, which will help keep your baby warm after birth. During the last trimester, your baby will add more layers of fat for warmth and protection.Your constant concern for your baby's health may give way to reassurance if you feel your baby's first movements, which often happens between weeks 18 and 20. These first movements are known as quickening, and they may feel like butterflies in your stomach or a growling stomach. Later in your pregnancy, you'll feel kicks, punches, and possibly hiccups! Each baby has different movement patterns, but if you're concerned or if the movements have decreased in frequency or intensity, talk to your doctor.
A baby at 19 - 20 weeks above.
Well, that is all I have to share for today ... I hope to have some better details and pictures for next week.
I am off go to make lunch for my bunch and do more laundry ! Hope that all of youhave a wonderfull Monday !
Take Care - :O) TAMMIE
