its wednesday

1) Wasn't going to blog today, wasn't even going to get online .. but I had to look something up so I popped over.

2) Doctors appointment yesterday afternoon went well. I just love my doc, he is the sweetest guy ever. He always makes me smile and feel better. I think I am going to write him a little letter to tell him how much that means to me - there are just so many doctors out there that are plain idiots, so it is nice that he isn't.

3) Anyway - he kinda scolded me because with my immuno problems and my not getting the flu/phneumonia shot I should get every year. So he took a bunch of labs and stuff and said I am most likely low on a bunch of stuff because I have been off my meds so long. I also have bronchitis and borderline Phneumonia. I still do have my inhaler for my asthma, so he told me to use it 2 -3 times a day because I can't get the meds I need. We still don't have insurance. So that don't help. He gave me a prescription though for Zitromax if it isn't too much. But atleast it is something. He told me he would write with the lab results in a few days. Since we don't have a phone anymore.

4)  Gracie is wearing Adam's slipper on her head and she posted this before I was ready, right after she ripped four keys off my puter. Good times.

Well,  That's all I got for today, I don't feel like writing any thing else. I just wanted to share that since some of you asked. Bye.

  2. I am very glad you like you Dr and that talking with him helps! There isnt any way he cant give you samples or anything to take so you can get better???
I am really sorry about your van... I am sorry about everything you are going through right now, it is such a crappy time I know!
Isnt there any way you can get help? Get medical or food assistance? I just find that hard to believe that you ant qualify for anything! You have 5 children and one income.. there has to be help out there. I know in Minnesota there is quite a bit you could qualify for.
And now?? Holiday season... isnt there anyone hiring that would take you in the evening for a few hours? Gas ststaion, Walmart, McDonalds.. anything to help out a bit?? ANy busses run over in that area??? GAH!! I'm just thinking and typing here.. sorry. I'm sure you have exhausted all the options available but Ijust dont get how you cant find any help right now.....
    Wish I could do something....

  3. michelle they all say we make just over the amount to get help in Wisconsin. So no medical or food stamps or whatever. We tried like toys for tots, for the kids for Christmas, but they say they are done with my area because we are so far away from town. It is hard for me to get a job because there are alot of restrictions I have due to my immuno crap, so I have just usually stayed home. Adam has said he will get another job, but it is only words.

There aren''t any buses, because we live 50 miles from the biggest town, the only thing closest is Walmart.

  4. I'm glad you went to the doctor and were able to open up and talk to him. Sometimes it just makes it better to let it all out and say what you feel. Don't stay off here..vent to us all if you need to. We are here for you!((HUGS)) Luv YA!
**I hope you feel better soon!((hugs))

  5. What about babysitting or something that you could do at home? I am sure that some parents need before and after school care.

  6. Tomah does have fast food places and a wal mart. LaCrosse is about 60 miles away and the Dells are about 50. Neither a HUGE place, so it just looks big as you pass it by on the highway, but its not.

  7. I did try that once when we moved here, but no one called me. Everyone goes to who they know first, ad I am NOT a social person. I don't ever leave the house unless I go to the store or church. The LL was gonna have us clean houses for him, but then he said after the holidays, so it will help someday, just not RN.

I will figure out something, even if I have to go back home. I can't live this way anymore. At 34, I should not be living this way.

  8. Well its time now to make those changes in your life. I too think damn, I am about to be 30 and although I finally found a job, I dont have a career! Makes me sad and frustrated that I didnt do things differently but all you can do is make the changes that need to be made for you and your family.
I agree this is all easier said than done, otherwise I would be in a better place myself, but all you can do really is keep moving forward. DO what you have to do......

  9. Well, the only thing I would want to do, I way don't have time for. Adam would never watch the kids and I don't have patience sometimes or like to be around people other times. I just like to learn.

Plus, with us homeschooling next year, it should be Adam's job to get the extra work, my job is at home.

  10. Your doctor genuinely cares about you, I'm glad for you. I love how 'they' say you make just too much to get help, but to make less you would not be able to eat or even have heat. Morons.

  11. You are going to have to make a change somewhere even if it is outside your comfort zone! You can't go on like this. :)

  12. I agree.

I am going back to bed - hope ya'll have a good day . Wake me when this year is over.

  13. I agree with Sarah! You have to make the changes and I'm sure it will include going outside of your comfort zone. We can all bitch about problems we have been we are the only ones who can make the changes.
You know Alex has always been able to provide for our family. He will NOT allow us to go hungry you know, he'll do what he has to do to make sure we are ok but over the summer i felt it all getting tighter and tighter adn knew I had to step up and help out. I hate not having enough money to pay for bills, I HATE that my credit is shit right now... But like I said, you do what you have to do to get out of the shitty situations!

  14. I'm glad you got to see the doc. He should of given you a generic script though. I think Zitromax is pricey..if it's the one i'm thinking. Is it a 5 day antibiotic? I hate living this way too, payday to payday, and not knowing when M's hours are going to go back to normal. I had to take out a student loan that I didn't want just to catch us up. I'm going back to school, and trying to do it mostly online til my back gets better. I would have a job right now if it wasn't for my damn back. I know you feel crappy every day just like I have pain every day. It sucks! It gets you down and depressed. When something good happens something crappy seems to come along right afterward. All we can do is just get through it the best we can. Life can knock you down, but we have no choice but to get right back up and keep fighting. What does Adam do for a living not to have any health insurance? Well hopefully with the new president, things will change and insurance will be available to you and me and hopefully it wont take years to get put in place. Just hang in there and take one day at a time.

  15. Im glad to hear that you have such a good doctor who shows genuine concern for you. That means SO much to me. I have had quacks that just want to hurry on to the next patient and that is unacceptable.

Im glad you got some meds and hopefully you can get over this stuff and not let it get any worse!!

    HUGS

  16. Glad to hear your doctor is taking care of you. I think writing him a note is a great idea. Have you tried Freecycle since Toys For Toys can't help you? (I'm in the Madison area and I've seen tons of stuff on Freecycle these past few weeks.)

  17. Glad to hear that you went to see the Dr. It helps when you really like your Dr. Hang in there.

  18. Thats gr8 that you have a doctor that actually cares! Most docs are in and outta the room faster than you can blink your eyes! Hope you can get the medicine and that it helps you!! I think that would be sooo awesome if you sent your doctor a letter. I'm sure it would make his day ;0)
    Hugz!!

  19. It's nice when a Dr. is genuinely concerned. I hope you can get your meds and feel better soon.
It sucks that times are so tough right now. I'm just surprised you can't get any sort of assistance! They have so many programs available, how hard up do you have to be to qualify? Dang!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am not an illegal alien .... I am not a minority .... I am just a white person that makes a few dollars more than what they say they can give assistance to.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ok... get this ... maybe it is Wisconsuck, I dunno, but when we went in to apply - there was a girl with a baby in there whose house had just burned down. They would only give her some vouchers to Goodwill because she said she had a few hundred in the bank. A few hundred. Really ?.. c'mon !! I guess people HAVE to lie anymore, because all the people who DON'T need the assistance are the ones actually getting it.

  22. It's good that you have such a good doctor! I sure hope you can get better now!

  23. Sending you big hugs.....I am so sorry you are going through all of this.....

  26. Having a good dr. helps. And one you can trust. I know of a program for people with no insurance that will help with medicines you have to have. It's called PPA.Look it up and give them a call.I used it when i had no insurance. They send the meds in a 3 month supply right to you'r home. Most are free..even shipping.A few cost 10 for a 3 month supply. Its worth a try though!hugzz

  30. What a great DR you have. Trust me they like getting positive feedback from patients. (I've seen my dad's reaction when his patients talk him up).

    ReplyDelete
  31. I didn't know your Dad was a doctor. how awesome ! It must have been neat to grow up with a doctor as a dad.

Yes, I am going to send him a note - prolly Friday. I think he would like it. I know I do when people say positive things about me, so it is a good idea I hope.

  32. Actually he is a Physicians Assistant in Orthopedics. It is great having someone to call though with questions who can explain in ENGLISH!

  33. LOL... :O) How interesting. I read medical journals sometimes when I am bored and I love the study, it is so very interesting. I understand medical terminolgy far better than I do legal... now that is a bunch of jibberish there. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Errrr. Care to go into detail here?

    ReplyDelete
  35. UM, sure. we went and filed for food stamps and medical assistance (called Badger care in WI) and after looking at my hubbys pay they said that we make a few hundred too much for a person of our "classification" to get assistance. That is EXACTLY what they told me.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Right. Two of my girlfriends are on that.

I can HIGHLY assure you, that they did not deny you for being white, and by "classification" they did NOT mean ... if you are black, or an illegal alien you can qualify or make less, and if you are white, you are expected to make more and can't qualify.

By "classification" means. The family, income, and in some cases what you "could" be making. Meaning. If you are qualified/have the experience or degree and are making less than you CAN ... they want you to work, verses go on assistance.

    Does that make sense?

Coming from a minority family that does not qualify for assistance. I just don't want you thinking just cause your white, you don't qualify. You know?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ok. I more or less took it meaning that I wasn't street trash or something. She really should have made herself more clear though, because her remarks weren't very nice

And I totally agrree, I HATE HATE HATE assistance, I mean us being on it. I know it is there for help - but some people abuse it and that totally drives me crazy ! It should be a hand up - NOT a hand out. I totally agree with the CAN statement you made. If we were to get on it, I could only stand it a short time, I can't and don't belive in living on it for an extended period of time. Others do, but I wish they wouldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I agree it is for the people that NEED it. I cannot lie, Years ago I got daycare assistance. We were not able to pay for daycare, its fricken expensive and back then neither of us could afford to work AND pay for care so I am all for helping people out. People that really do NEED it! I had a job and wanted to work to be able to help out my family. The help was there and I took it! I dont feel I abused it or anything but we were both capable of finding work so we were accepted. They get you on your feet and then you move on.
I think the lady you spoke with probobly saw it that way too... If you and Adam CAN and are ABLE to work physically, they will look at that to see if you can qualify, Not do to your racial status.
I'm sorry you cant get help.... Try other avenues!

    ReplyDelete
  39. We plan on it. :o) Adam plans to look for a better job in the upcoming year as well - he better. Hehas qualifications and can do better. I was just hoping help for a hand up, not a hand out, I really do hate using it.
